Modesto man gets 5 years for exposing self

Among sentences announced Monday by the Stanislaus County district attorney's office:

Mark D. Rogers, 46, of Modesto was sentenced to five years in prison after a jury convicted him of indecent exposure.

On Sept. 22 in Turlock, Rogers, who is required to register with law enforcement as a sex offender, went swimming in the hotel pool at the Holiday Inn. He then sat on a bench at the front entrance of the hotel and exposed and fondled himself.

Several guests notified hotel management, which then contacted the Turlock Police Department.

Rogers identified himself to an officer as Randall Cleary.

It was not until his fingerprints were scanned at the jail that it was determined he was Mark Rogers, a parolee at large.
