Stanislaus County 'Most Wanted' suspect arrested

Authorities on Wednesday evening arrested a man in Delhi who was listed as one of Stanislaus County's most wanted.

Brian Gomes, 34, was wanted on several warrants out of Turlock and Ceres. On Wednesday, Gomes was in The Bee's "Most Wanted" feature.

Ceres police said a tipster called the Crime Stoppers hot line about 5:30 p.m. Wednesday to provide information about Gomes' whereabouts.

Ceres and Turlock police, along with Merced County sheriff's officials, went to the Delhi home in the 8900 block of Griffith Road. The authorities found Gomes hiding in the home's back yard.

Gomes was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, being a felon in possession of a firearm, possessing stolen property, possessing a weapon with a removed serial number, possessing drugs and burglary.
