Naming a stretch of Highway 108 for the late Kirk Lindsey took a step forward Monday as California senators unanimously approved the honor.
A bill would add Lindsey's name to roadway signs in Modesto, where he lived, and in Riverbank, where he ran a trucking company. The bill now goes to the Assembly.
Lindsey, a longtime Central Valley representative on the California Transportation Commission, died in June at age 62.
