With the regular season in its final week, here are postseason possibilities for Stanislaus District baseball, softball and soccer teams:
MMC: Beyer (18-7, 10-3) has the top seed and faces CCC runner-up Merced in a Division 1 playoff opener. Enochs (14-11, 8-5) can get the No. 2 seed by beating Davis (13-8, 7-6) in one of their two meetings. If Davis sweeps, it goes.
CCC: Turlock (18-6, 8-2) has the top seed, and faces the SJAA champ -- Lodi (17-6, 11-1) or Lincoln (17-6, 10-2) -- in its opener. Merced (11-14, 6-4) leads Golden Valley (8-17, 5-5) and Buhach Colony (9-16, 5-5) for the No. 2 slot. Merced plays two with GV, while BC has two with Los Banos. BC split with Merced and GV.
VOL: Oakdale (18-7, 12-2) and Sonora (16-5, 11-3) play two to decide the top seed. The VOL has three D-4 berths: Oakdale has one, while Sonora, Manteca (15-8, 10-4) and Ceres (15-9, 9-5) battle for the other two. Sonora swept Ceres and was swept by Manteca, while Manteca split with Ceres.
TVL: Escalon (20-2, 12-1) and Ripon Christian (15-6, 10-3) have the top two spots for the D-5 playoffs, and Ripon (10-14, 7-6) and Modesto Christian (7-15, 6-7) fight for the third. MC has the tiebreaker over Ripon. Ripon plays two vs. last-place Riverbank, while MC has two with Hughson.
WAC: Central Catholic (17-2, 11-2), Livingston (17-6, 10-3) and Gustine (9-8, 8-5) have the berths. Central owns the tiebreaker over Livingston.
MLL: Linden (14-6, 9-2), Bret Harte (14-6, 8-4) and Summerville (13-7, 8-4) are fighting for two spots. Linden has four to play, with two vs. Summerville. S'ville has the tiebreaker over Bret Harte, and Bret Harte has it over Linden.
SL: Mariposa (16-7, 10-3) and Turlock Christian (13-6, 10-3) have berths: They play today and Mariposa won the first game. Waterford (13-9, 8-5) and Le Grand (10-10, 7-6) meet Thursday and that could decide who is the No. 3 seed.
MMC: Johansen (21-4, 13-0) is the top seed for the D-1 playoffs, and the only way Enochs (17-7, 9-4) isn't No. 2 is if it loses twice and Davis (12-9, 6-6) wins three. They play Friday.
CCC: Los Banos (14-12, 11-0) is No. 1, with Merced (10-10 7-2) and Buhach Colony (13-7, 6-3) playing for the second. Merced beat BC earlier and they play again Thursday.
VOL: Oakdale (18-6, 13-1) and East Union (20-5, 12-2) have D-4 berths, and they split two games. Ceres (16-7, 10-3) and Sierra (14-9, 8-5) are gunning for the third. All play 16-game schedules. Sierra beat Ceres twice: Sierra has a game with EU, but Ceres must play EU and Oakdale.
TVL: Escalon (20-4, 10-2), Hughson (19-6, 10-3) and Modesto Christian (10-10, 9-4) are in the D-5 playoffs, but all the seeds are up for grabs as each team plays 15 games. Escalon has the tiebreaker over Hughson and is 1-1 vs. MC; it hosts MC today. Hughson has the tiebreaker over MC and is heavily favored too win its final two games.
WAC: Hilmar (18-2, 12-1) and Patterson (13-9, 11-2) play twice to decide the top seeds. Central Catholic (11-10, 7-6) is the No. 3 seed and opens vs. the TVL champ. The WAC champ gets the TVL No. 3; the WAC No. 2 has the MLL champ.
MLL: Calaveras (19-3, 10-0) and Linden (14-5, 9-2) are the playoff teams -- only two advance -- and both have to complete 15-game schedules.
SL: Waterford (20-1, 14-0) has the top seed, and Turlock Christian (10-7, 8-6), Mariposa (8-11, 6-6) and Delhi (5-8, 5-6) play for the final two.
DIVISION 1: Enochs hosts Lodi Thursday in its D-1 playoff opener, while Beyer visits St. Mary's Friday. Also Friday, Turlock hosts Tokay and Merced is at Tracy.
DIVISION 4: Sierra, Manteca and Oakdale open next Tuesday, and are seeded in that order. Sierra hosts Cosumnes Oaks, while Manteca visits Colfax and Oakdale visits West Campus.
DIVISION 5: Ripon, Escalon and Hughson advance and they're seeded in that order. Linden is the MLL champ, with Bret Harte and Summerville fighting for the second berth with one game left: Bret Harte plays Linden and Summerville has fifth-place Amador. Summerville goes on if it wins and Bret Harte loses. Patterson, Central Catholic and Hilmar are the WAC playoff teams, but none of the seeds are pinned down.
