Modesto police converged this afternoon on the residence at 514 E. Roseburg Ave. to serve a search warrant, authorities said.
Sgt. Al Brocchini of the Modesto Police Department said there's been suspected drug activity there recently, along with stolen property coming in and out of the house.
"It's a flop house for criminal activity," he said. "We were here two months ago. We're just trying to clean up the neighborhood."
As of 1:30 p.m., 10 adults were detained. There also was a young child removed from the home. Brocchini said one person was taken into custody, and that no arrests had been made.
