SAFE DRIVER COURSE

INFO: Doctors Medical Center and the AARP will offer a safe driver program for senior citizens. The two-day course is designed to point out the natural physical changes that drivers go through as they age and offers ways to compensate for these changes. Oakdale

WILD HORSE AND BURRO ADOPTION

WHEN: Preview Friday, 3 p.m.; adoptions Saturday and Sunday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

WHERE: Oakdale Saddle Club, 1624 F St.

INFO: The U.S. Bureau of Land Management will offer 40 horses and 10 burros for adoption as part of its effort to manage herd sizes on its land in California and Nevada. Silent bidding will be from 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday. Animals not taken during bidding will be available for a $125 adoption fee. Prospective owners must show that they have enough corral space and meet other requirements of the program. They should bring a halter and lead rope to the event.
