Modesto police searching for suspected bank robber

Modesto police are searching for a man suspected of robbing the US Bank on the corner of Tully Road and Standiford Avenue this morning, authorities said.

Police received a call at about 9:20 a.m. with a report of a man robbing the bank at 3501 Tully Road, then fleeing north on Tully, according to Sgt. Rick Armendariz of the Modesto Police Department.

The man, described as a white male adult wearing a baseball cap and black jacket, entered the bank and approached an employee at the counter. He brandished a gun and demanded money. He then left with an undisclosed amount of money.

No one was injured and no shots were fired, Armendariz said.
