Mr. Gregori died of a heart attack at his home in 1998. He was 50.
Mr. Gregori probably is remembered best as a principal at Downey and Beyer high schools. Shortly before his death, he was offered the district's director of secondary education position. He was considered an inspirational leader who was fair and firm, professional and personal. He was known for his dedication to students and pride in his schools.
A ribbon-cutting event is planned Aug. 10 at the new campus, with a formal dedication ceremony expected in October.
