A 22-year-old man was being held without bail after police said he fatally stabbed his father in front of other family members.
Mitchell Barron was arrested early Saturday after his father, Jose Barron, was pronounced dead at a hospital, said police Sgt. Tony Sheneman.
Jose Barron, 42, was stabbed after he, Mitchell and two other family members finished work for the night at their cleaning business. When the family drove up to the Tracy home of Mitchell Barron about 11:15 p.m. Friday, Mitchell Barron got out of the car, started yelling at his father and then stabbed him twice, Sheneman said.
Also in the car were Mitchell Barron's younger sister and mother, the wife of Jose Barron.
After the stabbing, Mitchell's sister called police. His mother drove her husband to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly after, Sheneman said. Mitchell Barron was arrested several hours later in Hayward.
