Residents who want to get on the ballot to challenge three Hughson City Council members facing a recall election have until Thursday to submit paperwork and sign up.
Hughson previously announced that the deadline was today, but the city clerk determined that candidates would have another week to file after reviewing election rules.
Councilmen Thom Crowder, Ben Manley and Doug Humphreys are the subjects of the recall.
A civil grand jury chastised them for conspiring to fire former City Manager Joe Donabed and for running afoul of a law that governs open meetings.
Voters on Aug. 24 will be asked if the three should be recalled and if so who should replace them.
Filing papers must be submitted to the city clerk at 7018 Pine St.
