Masked men hold up Salida market

Three men wearing masks robbed the M&S Corner Market in Salida on Sunday morning, authorities said.

The men shot at a woman who tried to follow their getaway vehicle. Stanislaus County sheriff's Lt. Mario Cisneros said at least one of the men was armed with a handgun.

He said they entered the market in the 4800 block of Washington Street about 10:30 a.m., held up the clerk and took money from the register.

He said a woman who saw them leave the market followed in her vehicle for a few blocks until the men stopped their vehicle and shot at her.

She stopped her pursuit, and the men drove away, Cisneros said.
