HISTORIC PRESERVATION CONFERENCE

When: June 18, 8:45 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Where: St. Patrick's Church parish hall, 127 W. Jackson St.

Info: Aficionados of old buildings can learn how to preserve them at a conference sponsored by the California Office of Historic Preservation and several Tuolumne County groups. The event will feature discussion of historic building inventories, land-use planning with history in mind and other topics. The full day's program, including lunch, costs $35. There is no charge for the afternoon sessions on the state historic building code and weatherization of old buildings. A walking tour of Sonora's treasures will conclude the conference.
