Crash that left 4 hurt near Hughson under investigation

Four people were injured Monday evening after a sport utility vehicle and car collided on the Geer Road bridge near Hughson.

The four suffered minor injuries and were taken to Memorial Medical Center in Modesto, said Sgt. Ben Moser with the California Highway Patrol. He said the bridge was closed for about an hour to traffic.

The accident happened just after 7 p.m. Moser said a witness reported that a northbound Ford Escape started to swerve, lost control and entered the southbound lane, then hit a Cadillac.

Moser said the accident remains under investigation but there is no evidence that alcohol or drugs were a factor.
