A two-alarm fire burned two acres of grass and brush Tuesday along the Tuolumne River near Highway 99 in Modesto.
No injuries were reported and no structures were damaged, according to the Modesto Fire Department.
The fire, right, was reported about 5:20 p.m. and burned mainly on the north end of the river, west of the Seventh Street Bridge.
The fire was contained by 6 p.m. Authorities closed part of Tuolumne Boulevard.
Fire officials said the smoke did not create traffic problems on the highway because the smoke was mostly blowing south.
