Authorities arrested 29 people over the Fourth of July weekend in a countywide effort to take drunken drivers off the road.
The arrests were the product of the "Avoid the 12" campaign, which includes all 12 law enforcement agencies in Stanislaus County.
The holiday operations consisted of a sobriety checkpoint, eight saturation patrols and officers on routine patrol.
The collaborative effort's goal was to reduce deaths and injuries caused by alcohol-related crashes.
In 2009, authorities arrested 48 people during the Fourth of July weekend.
