Police have arrested two 13-year-old boys suspected of robbing a group of teens at knifepoint Sunday evening just outside a convenience store in northwest Modesto. No injuries were reported.
The robbery occurred outside a Circle K at 1640 N. Carpenter Road, east of the Modesto Junior College West Campus.
The suspects approached a group of teenage boys, brandished a knife and robbed them of their personal belongings, said Sgt. Rick Armendariz, a Modesto police spokesman.
It was unclear what exactly was stolen.
The victims reported the robbery to police officers, who later tentatively identified one of the suspects.
Armendariz said the officers went to the suspect's home and were speaking to his mother when both suspects came walking around the corner.
He said the suspects tried to run away but were quickly apprehended.
The boys were booked at the Stanislaus County Juvenile Hall on suspicion of robbery.
Police did not release their names because they are minors.
