Motorist, 15, flees police, crashes into Modesto home

A 15-year old girl drove a stolen car into a house early Wednesday, injuring one of the home's occupants, according to Modesto police Sgt. Derrick Tyler. Officers attempted to make a traffic stop on Orangeburg Avenue at 12:32 a.m. Wednesday but the juvenile driver fled. She eventually headed east on Briggsmore Avenue before turning south on Sunrise Avenue, where she crashed into a home in the 1300 block. A resident was injured by flying debris. The driver fled on foot but was quickly apprehended by Modesto police, who had set up a perimeter around the neighborhood. The girl was booked into juvenile hall on charges of auto theft, evading an officer and hit and run.
