Tickets are still available for the Taste of Home Cooking School, sponsored by The Modesto Bee and Gallo Family Vineyards, at the Modesto convention center Tuesday. The annual event usually sells out, and a sell-out is likely again.
Doors open at 5 p.m., and patrons will get to sample goods and shop at several vendors who set up their wares before the show formally begins at 7 p.m. All attending will receive a "goodie bag" stuffed with coupons, recipes and other items. Numerous prizes are handed out to audience members during the show, in which a Taste of Home chef will demonstrate how to prepare several meals.
Sponsors also include Save Mart supermarkets and Direct Appliance, which at 2424 McHenry Ave. in Modesto is the only place where tickets can be purchased. Tickets are $12. VIP priority season has sold out.
Taste of Home Cooking School programs are held around the country each year.
