NorCal transportation leaders to meet in Modesto

Transportation officials from throughout Northern California are scheduled to gather this week in Modesto for a summit focused on roads, high-speed rail, air quality and housing density.

Jenny Kenoyer and Mickey Peabody, whose advocacy got a rides program started for seniors and the disabled in Stanislaus County, will receive awards of merit at a dinner Wednesday.

Also to be honored at the San Joaquin Valley Regional Fall Policy Conference, for paying more attention to the valley, are Gov. Schwarzenegger and his former secretary of business, transportation and housing, Turlock native Sunne Wright McPeak.

And Riverbank will receive a downtown revitalization award.
