Woman faces jail over embezzling Turlock youth soccer funds

A 43-year-old Keyes woman faces up to three years in prison after being convicted of embezzling $24,175 from the Turlock Youth Soccer Association.

Anita Ybarra is set to be sentenced Jan. 10 after pleading no contest to embezzlement Monday in Stanislaus County Superior Court.

Ybarra was working as an assistant coach and tournament coordinator from April 2007 to January 2008 when she stole the money, prosecutors said.

She was arrested Aug. 25, 2009 after the group conducted its own embezzlement investigation.
