2 men survive knife attack in Modesto park

Two men were stabbed Friday night at Oregon Park in Modesto's airport neighborhood after they confronted men suspected of burglarizing a relative's work truck at a nearby home. The victims suffered injuries that were not life-threatening. Their ages were not available Saturday. The incident was reported about 9:50 p.m. Modesto police Lt. Clint Raymer said one of the victims spotted two men burglarizing the truck in the 700 block of Thrasher Avenue and tried to approach them before the men left. It was unclear what was stolen. Rayner said the victim and a group of his relatives went to look for the men and found them at the park. A confrontation ensued, and one victim was stabbed in the chest. The second victim was stabbed five times in the back. Raymer said no arrests had been made. Police had no descriptions of the men.
