A 16-year-old Modesto boy is suspected of breaking into Roosevelt Jr. High School early this morning, and ransacking the teachers lounge.
He apparently had time to stop for a bite, too.
Modesto Police responded the campus on College Avenue shortly before 2 a.m., after a broken window activated an alarm and alerted the school’s security company, according to Modesto police spokesman Sgt. Rick Armendariz.
Police set up a perimeter around the school and soon found the juvenile leaving one of the buildings. He was apprehended without incident.
The suspect trashed the teachers lounge and even took the time to eat food that had been stored there. Armendariz said the police are working with school staff to determine if anything was stolen.
The boy was cited and released to his parents, but must appear in court on suspicion of burglary.
