Modesto police: Ceres man crashes stolen truck into cars, house

A Ceres man was arrested this morning on suspicion of auto theft, drunk driving and other charges after crashing a stolen truck into two cars and a house and then running from police.

Frank Marcrum, 20, was arrested about 30 minutes after the crash with the help of the Modesto Police Department’s K9 Unit, according to Sgt. Rick Armendariz.

At 12:25 this morning, a police officer saw a truck without its lights on and with no license plates at West Morris Avenue and Sycamore Avenue, Armendariz said.

The driver of the truck, Marcrum, took off, and moments later crashed into two cars and a house on Adams Lane.

Marcrum apparently fled, and was chased down about 30 minutes later by a member of the K9 unit.

He was taken to a nearby hospital and after he was medically cleared, Marcrum was booked into Stanislaus County Jail on charges tied to auto theft, drunk driving, hit-and-run, resisting arrest and probation violations.
