Armed man robs Burger King in Modesto

Police on Friday were looking for an armed man who robbed cash from a west Modesto fast food restaurant Thursday night.

No injuries were reported.

The armed robbery occurred at the Burger King restaurant in the 1000 block of North Carpenter Road, just south of Torrid Avenue.

Modesto police Sgt. Rick Armendariz said the robber entered the restaurant, brandished a handgun and demanded money from an employee. He said the robber then left the restaurant with an undisclosed amount of cash and was last seen running north on Carpenter. Armendariz said there were no customers in the restaurant at the time of the robbery.

Police described the robber as a Latino, standing about 6 feet tall and weighing about 200 pounds.

Police said the robber was wearing a white shirt, gray sweat pants and a black hooded sweat shirt.
