Bank robbed in downtown Modesto, police say

Modesto police are investigating a downtown bank robbery this morning, authorities said.

The suspect entered U.S. Bank at 1120 11th St. at 9:11 a.m.. He demanded money from a teller, and left shortly after on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash, according to Sgt. Rick Armendariz of the Modesto Police Department.

The suspect was described as a black man, in his late 20s or early 30s, wearing prescription glasses, a white hooded sweatshirt and dark pants, Armendariz said.

Nobody was injured. It’s not known if the suspect was armed.
