A winter storm drenched Modesto and much of central California today, and numerous accidents took place on slick city streets.
By late afternoon, the Modesto Irrigation District reported that .43 of an inch had fallen downtown.
The National Weather Service post a wind advisory until 6 p.m. It expected sustained southerly winds of 15 to 30 mph with gusts up to 45 mph.
The forecast called for rain showers through tonight, with a chance of rain showers Saturday.
