Gary Brice: Instead of tossing insults, toss your hat in Atwater’s ring
People seen to be hiding behind the law to slander our city and staff with rude and unfounded comments. Saying our police department is in chaos and acting like Keystone Cops is not helpful and damages moral. Saying the appointment of qualified insiders to positions is like inbreeding of animals does nothing to welcome new business or new residents to our city.
Coupled with the fact this person sits on a commission that should be a positive influence for the city not encouraging negative personal statements damaging our cities pride. Is there a personal agenda lurking somewhere?
I hope the new city manager succeeds in turning our city in the right direction, but with comments like this it’s going hinder his efforts. Sure, we have scars and wounds but we need to support our current leadership and get over this namecalling and ugly comments. Our city staff are not malcontents, but hard working and loyal. If this person feels qualified to run a city, step up and run for office.
