From bad to worse. That’s what patient satisfaction surveys show people in Merced feel about their care at Mercy Medical Center Merced.
But hospital administration is adamant that the results shown on a Web site run by the California HealthCare Foundation are at least a year old, and that the hospital has gotten vastly better since then.
The foundation, a private group interested in improving health care in California, posts patient satisfaction results every three months. The latest reports, which run through July 2006, show that while patients at Mercy are generally satisfied with their quality of health care, they rate their medical patient experience as poor overall.
