A benefit of the current economic downturn appears to be showing up at the pump.
Gasoline prices have dropped almost 19 cents in the last month and will probably continue to drop. Experts say the decrease is due to dropping crude oil prices, falling consumption and healthy supply.
Gas is still 61 cents more expensive than this time last year. Average gas prices in Fresno today were $3.15 in Fresno and $3.18 in Visalia, according to AAA.
However, the price at pumps across the central San Joaquin Valley showed that bargains can be found with some stations charging less than $3 per gallon.
