A convicted sex offender offender was sentenced to 11 years behind bars this week for the 2006 kidnapping and sexual assault of a Livingston woman.
Merced Superior Court Judge Carol Ask sentenced Raymond Parra, 35, to the maximum sentence possible allowable by his conviction. A 12-member jury in February found the Manteca resident guilty of one count of kidnapping and two counts of sexual battery.
Parra was convicted for kidnapping a 24-year-old woman from Livingston in December 2006. He took the victim to a remote location and sexually assaulted her. Deputy District Attorney Marit Erickson said Parra knew the victim, with whom he was previously involved in a relationship.
George Alonso, Parra’s attorney, did not return phone calls to his office at press time.
