1:47 p.m.: Northbound lanes of Highway 59 at Sandy Mush have been opened. Some drivers are complaining about low visibility in the detour area due to dust, according to the CHP.
11:50 a.m.: CHP is reporting that Highway 59 will be closed at Sandy Mush Road for approximately two hours.
11:36 a.m.: The power lines are not in the roadway, but the utility pole is leaning over the southbound lanes of Highway 59, according to the CHP Traffic Incident Information Web site. The northbound lanes may be reopened when power is turned off and the fire is out.
11:33 a.m.: Detours will be set up at Chamberlain Road and Freitas Ave., the CHP said.

11:30 a.m.: Highway 59 is closed at Sandy Mush Road due to a grass fire and downed electrical wires, according to the California Highway Patrol.
A van hit a utility pole just after 10:30 a.m. and a small grass fire was reported nearby. Emergency responders reported that wires were hanging over the roadway, and called PG&E to the scene.
It is unknown how long the roadway will be closed.
