The search for Merced’s next city manager has narrowed to three finalists, and a decision on who will take over the city’s top post could happen within the next week.
In private meetings, the City Council recently interviewed six candidates to replace outgoing City Manager Jim Marshall. Three were called back for second interviews.
Now the council will weigh those finalists, possibly conduct more interviews, then make an offer to a final candidate, said recruiter Bob Murray, who’s conducting the search.
