Great Lakes Airlines officials began a campaign Wednesday to reaffirm their plans to fly planes out of Merced’s airport and convince the public that they’re sticking around.
Airline CEO Charles Howell said that planes bound for Ontario in San Bernardino County will begin taking off from Merced Municipal Airport at 6 a.m. Sept. 8. Non-refundable roundtrip tickets cost $89.
With another airline set to begin service, the question on many minds remains How long will it last? The company pledges it won’t be going anywhere.
Great Lakes leaders stopped by a Rotary meeting in the morning and they’ll visit the Greater Merced Chamber of Commerce, both moves to build confidence.
