Two teens were arrested after Merced police officers observed them trying to steal nearly $300 worth of computer games from Best Buy.
Nikolaus Paul Cardenas and Marcus Erik Muniz, both 18, allegedly tried to steal five video games and an audio headset worth $281.94 from the electronics retailer, according to Merced police. Police officers were called to the store after the men were seen trying to hide the items beneath their clothing. The officers waited outside the store to see if the suspects would try to leave without paying for the products. They were arrested as they walked out the door.
Cardenas and Muniz were booked into Merced County Jail on charges of commercial burglary and conspiracy to commit a criminal act, police said. Bail for each was set at $20,000.
