A low-pressure weather system sitting off the California coast could move over the Valley in the next few days and bring isolated showers and thunderstorms through Saturday.
There is a 20% chance of rain in the Valley today and Thursday, said Jim Dudley, meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Hanford. That will increase to 50% on Friday with lingering showers possible Saturday, he said.
The Valley will have partly to mostly cloudy skies through Saturday. Highs will be in the upper 70s to low 80s today and Thursday. A high of 83 is forecast today for Fresno.
High temperatures will drop into the low to mid-70s on Friday, Dudley said, then rise into the 80s on Saturday, Dudley said. Highs could return to the upper 80s by Wednesday.
