Dig out your umbrella -- a warm, wet and windy storm is expected to blow into the Valley late tonight.
The storm could drop as much as 2 inches of rain in Fresno, and as much as 5 inches in the higher elevations before it moves out Wednesday, the National Weather Service said. Snow levels will be high -- around 8,000 feet.
High temperatures over the next three days should be in the upper 60s to low 70s in Merced. Wind gusts could reach 21 mph Tuesday.
The season's first storm may trigger mud and rockslides in higher elevations and leave Valley roads slick from accumulated oil, said Daniel Harty, a National Weather Service meteorologist.
Storms are not unusual for this time of year, Harty said, but this will be an uncommonly wet one.
