The California High-Speed Rail Authority has released the final environmental impact report for the Bay-Area-to-Central-Valley portion of the high-speed rail system.
A draft copy of the EIR was released in March and two public hearings were held in April, with 3,700 comments collected. The revised EIR includes updated text, copies of public comments and responses to public comments.
The High Speed Rail Authority's board of directors will consider the final EIR at its meeting on Sept. 1 and 2. An additional opportunity for public comment will be provided during the meeting. The board will also consider making a new decision on a preferred network alternative for the high-speed system to connect the Bay Area to the Central Valley.
The report will be available online at http://www.cahighspeedrail.ca.gov/. More information can be obtained by calling (916) 324-1541.
