Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) said they will hold their first fundraising event Friday, April 15, at 6 p.m. at the Merced Senior Center, 755 West 15th Street in Merced.
The event is called "JAMMIN' with the Judges."
"The funds we raise will allow us to recruit and train many more trained CASA advocates in Merced County to provide a strong voice for each of 750 children (in foster care) and to ensure that each child is eventually placed in a safe, secure and supportive home," said Nancy Young-Bergman, president of the board of directors of CASA of Merced County.
Tickets for the event can be bought for $50 each, or $500 for a table of eight, and include jazz entertainment and a New York steak and shrimp dinner prepared by Fernando's. Organizers called it an important opportunity to come together as a community to improve the lives of our children in the county.
