The Carlos Vieira Foundation, together with Team 51 FIFTY, said they’ve been raising money to help families living with autism.
They have donated money to autism organizations in Merced County and throughout the San Joaquin Valley. This year, according to a news release, they have started a Direct Help Program which offers grants directly to the families who need assistance with associated costs for their child with autism.
The program allows families living in Merced County to apply for a grant of up to $500 per child who has autism or is in the process of being diagnosed with autism. There are specific requirements that families living with autism must meet to become eligible for the grant, The money can only be used for purposes that are directly related to the child with autism, the news release said.
