Check ’n Go, a provider of consumer financial services with more than 1,000 retail locations in 29 states, is teaming with the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children to distribute free child ID kits and child safety information.
Employees will distribute the kits in Merced June 22 from 2-6 p.m. at Scholle, 2500 Cooper Avenue in Merced.
In addition to the ID kits, which help families keep such tools as up-to-date photos of their children that law enforcement would need in the case of a missing child, Check ‘n Go store locations also distribute safety tips and display photos of missing children with the hope that someone will have information that could help bring a child home.
Last year Check ‘n Go said in a news release that it distributed 10,186 child ID kits and displayed 306 photos of missing children in its stores. A total of 88 children featured in those photographs were recovered through that or other programs.
