Lopes’ single leads Frisco to 5-4 win over Midland

MIDLAND, Texas (AP) -- Christian Lopes hit a run-scoring single in the ninth inning, leading the Frisco RoughRiders to a 5-4 win over the Midland RockHounds on Saturday.

The single by Lopes scored LeDarious Clark and was the game's last scoring play.

The RoughRiders cut the deficit to 4-3 when Brendon Davis hit an RBI single, bringing home Juremi Profar in the seventh.

Blake Bass (1-0) got the win with two innings of scoreless, two-hit relief while Kyle Finnegan (0-1) took the loss in the Texas League game.

For the RockHounds, Luke Persico homered and singled twice, driving in two runs.

With the win, Frisco improved to 5-2 against Midland this season.
