PEORIA, Ill. (AP) -- Alvaro Seijas tossed a five-hit shutout and Brandon Riley singled three times, as the Peoria Chiefs topped the Beloit Snappers 6-0 in the second game of a doubleheader on Wednesday.
Seijas (2-4) struck out seven and walked two to get the win.
Peoria scored five runs in the second, including an error that scored Malcom Nunez and Wadye Ynfante. The Chiefs scored again in the sixth inning, when Nunez scored on a forceout.
Michael Murray (0-1) went 2 2/3 innings, allowing five runs and six hits in the Midwest League game. He also struck out one and walked two.
Devin Foyle doubled and singled for the Snappers. Beloit was held scoreless for the fifth time this season, while the Peoria staff recorded its seventh shutout of the year.
