SYRACUSE, N.Y. (AP) -- Danny Espinosa homered and singled, also stealing a base as the Syracuse Mets beat the Louisville Bats 5-0 in the second game of a doubleheader on Wednesday.
Dilson Herrera homered and singled with two runs for Syracuse.
In the bottom of the second, Syracuse scored on a sacrifice fly by Colton Plaia that brought home Herrera. In the following at-bat, Tim Tebow hit an RBI single, scoring David Thompson to give the Mets a 2-0 lead. The Mets then added two runs in the fourth and a run in the fifth. In the fourth, Herrera hit a solo home run, while Espinosa hit a solo home run in the fifth.
Paul Sewald (2-1) got the win with two innings of scoreless relief while Louisville starter Jackson Stephens (3-1) took the loss in the International League game.
The Bats were held off the scoreboard for the first time this season, while the Mets' staff recorded their fourth shutout of the year.
The teams split the doubleheader after Louisville won the first game 2-0.
