The Merced Cup event is contested over two days at Poppy Hills Golf Club each year as a reward for the top 24 point leaders after a full year of competitions at Merced Golf and Country Club.
The top two point leaders are named captains and pick their teams from the next 22 on the points list.
The format is match play patterned after the Ryder Cup. Day one is a four-ball with two man teams playing one better ball against each other while day two is a singles match with each team member playing a head-to-head match against one player from the other team.
Points for all the matches are totaled and we have a winning team.
