CHOWCHILLA — David DeJager scored three touchdowns as Chowchilla won the battle of unbeatens with a 42-16 thumping of Kerman Friday night.

DeJager scored on runs of 3, 5, and 4 yards in a first half that saw Chowchilla (2-0 North Sequoia League, 5-0 overall) jump out to a 28-3 lead.

DeJager finished 40 yards rushing.

Defensive back Fred Gaines came up with two interceptions to help set up two of Chowchilla’s scores.

Chowchilla built a lead as large as 42-3.

Chowchilla called quarterback Robbie Diepersloot’s number plenty of times. He racked up 81 yards on designed plays.

It was Chowchilla’s third big win in a row after knocking off Modesto Christian and Yosemite the last two weeks.
