Attention all Merced High football players. The 2009 Merced High football physicals will be held Tuesday, July 21, from 6-8 p.m. at the Merced High cafeteria.

Varsity players should arrive at 6 p.m. Sophomores at 6:30 and freshmen at 6:45.

All players must be cleared to play be the first day of practice on Aug. 10.

Registrations for the City of Merced Youth NFL Flag Football Program will be accepted between July 20-Aug. 28. Season runs September through November.

The cost is $60 per child.

The Merced United Explosion under-14 girls competitive soccer team is looking for a few more players born between Aug. 1, 1995 and July 31, 1996.

The Merced United Explosion under-14 girls competitive team is hosting its inaugural soccer mini-camp for girls.

Players eligible to particpate are girls registered with Merced or Atwater youth soccer associations, who will be playing in the under-8 and under-10 divisions.

The two-day camp will be held on Monday, July 20, and Thursday, July 23 from 6-8 p.m.

Cost is $25. Contact coach Lance Eber at 631-4941.

The Premiereship Soccer League will be hosting Soccer Cup by the League.

The League is currently registering men's soccer teams for the Cup.

Cost is $360 per team with a rost of 20 players per team.

Games will be played on Sundays and the Cup starts July 26.

The National Softball Association is set to host a number of girls fastpitch tournaments at Joe Herb Park.

The 18-and-under Classic will be Aug. 1-2, the No Mercy in Merced is Sept. 5-6 and the Last Chance Tournament Nov. 21-22.

Registration will be accepted for the City of Merced fall adult softball program until Aug. 7. The projected start date is Aug. 24.
