Bowl Season Can Still Be Fun

While we all wait for the NCAA's greed to come to an end and the development of a proper college football playoff system to be implemented, the bowl season can still be enjoyable.

Sure, there's no opportunity for Cinderella to rise up and snag the national title, but teams like Cincinnati (taking on defending champion Florida) still have the opportunity to shock the world. As incredibly flawed as the modern bowl system is, it still creates 5 to 10 matchups each season that make for tremendous entertainment. Sometimes they come from the unlikeliest of sources, too.

There's already been some good ones just three bowls in. Wyoming's upset of Fresno State was a heck of a way to kick things off and Middle Tennessee State and Southern Miss. combined for an exciting 74 points. The first three bowl games have averaged over 68 combined points per game. And they should just keep on coming tonight when Oregon State takes on BYU.  Other than the Sun (Oklahoma vs. Stanford), Fiesta (TCU vs. Boise State) and Sugar Bowls (Cincinnati vs. Florida), this is one of the games I've been looking forward to most.

What bowl matchups have you excited?
