Does fame help in picking the big game? The predictions are in...
Mike Seidel, The Weather Channel meteorologist: "This week's snow and ice along with three days of sub-freezing temperatures in North Texas is the meteorological sign that the team that plays on the frozen tundra will take this one! I'm going with the Packers."
Tim Love, celebrity chef (Lonesome Dove Western Bistro and Love Shack): "Pittsburgh 28-24. The Steelers have Fort Worth on their side since they're staying here. I thought this was the year the Cowboys would tie the Steelers for most Super Bowl wins. Obviously, that didn't go as planned. So it seems only fitting that the Steelers will come to our new stadium and extend their lead."
Tim McGraw, country music artist ("Live Like You Were Dying"): "I haven't made a pick yet. I lean toward GB if their QB is on. He could light it up. On the other hand, Pitt plays great in the big games and always seems to keep alive to make a play at the end. If I were forced to pick, I would have to say Pitt."
Faith Hill, country music artist ("Breathe"): "It's definitely going to be Green Bay."
Jim Parsons, actor ( The Big Bang Theory): "As a Houston Texans fan, I've had to piggy-back on the hopes of friends and relatives through the playoffs. I'm down to Aunt Jackie, a Green Bay fan, so I'll be a cheesehead-for-a-day. Go Packers."
Alan Bean, Apollo 12 astronaut: "Steelers will prevail because of three factors. One, Ben Roethlisberger is one tough skilled competitor when everything is on the line. Two, the Steeler defense always shows up in critical games. And three, Troy Polamalu will has two weeks to heal and return to early-season form."
Bob Schieffer, above, CBS news correspondent ( Face the Nation With Bob Schieffer): "Steelers, because I think their practice facility at TCU is so far superior to what the Packers were using. And who knows? Coach Patterson might have dropped by and given them a tip or two."
Regis Philbin, talk show host ( Live With Regis and Kelly): "This is the toughest matchup to figure out in a long time. Two great quarterbacks, coaches and defenses.
But I'll take Pittsburgh.
Wait, make that Green Bay. No, Pittsburgh!"
Kris Allen, singer ( American Idol): "Packers. Not only because I'm a huge Packers fan, but I think their combination of offense and defense is unstoppable now."
Cindy Margolis, model: "I'm going against my instincts and making it personal: After my divorce was final, the first guy I dated was Aaron Rodgers. Gotta admit it. Quite a gentleman. While my gut says the Steelers are the better team, I'm going with Aaron by a score of 27-21. Heck, his passes worked on me!"
Jeff Probst, reality show host ( Survivor): "Green Bay wins. Reason: Aaron Rodgers. Even through his helmet
you can read behind those eyes. He is unstoppable."
Dr. Phil McGraw, talk show host ( Dr. Phil): "Steelers. Overall, I think the Packers have the better team. But it's hard for me to go against Ben Roethlisberger, who is 10-2 in the playoffs, and a Steelers defense that is looking really tough."
Timothy Olyphant, above, actor ( Justified): "I've been working a lot in Pittsburgh lately and I know how much that city loves its Steelers. But I think the Packers are the better team. They're who I expect to win it."
Rhett Miller, alt-country music artist (Old 97's): "Aaron Rodgers is at the beginning of what I think will prove to be a Hall of Fame career. He and an opportunistic Packers defense will keep the Steelers from winning a seventh ring in Dallas. Green Bay 28-24."
Mark Cuban, Dallas Mavericks owner: "Steelers 28-18. Troy is healthy. I think the Steelers' defense shuts down GB wide receivers while the offense is able to score through the air."
Daniel Silva, author ( The Rembrandt Affair): "I'm picking the Packers in a tight one, with Aaron Rodgers finally stepping out of Brett Favre's shadow once and for all."
Chuck Yeager, first pilot to break the sound barrier: "Steelers are riding high. They will be peaking out their capability and win by 11 points, 21-10."
James Roday, actor ( Psych): "Packers. Aaron Rodgers will not be stopped."
Wendy Williams, talk show host ( The Wendy Williams Show): "Steelers have a better running game and I looove Troy Polamalu's hair. It's sort of like mine. Ha!"
Matthew Morrison, actor ( Glee): "Steelers will crush the Packers. Their defense will dominate this game."
Lee DeWyze, singer ( American Idol): "Steelers will win because they have Super Bowl experience. It will be a close game. The Packers have a great offense, but the Steelers' defense is amazing."
George Eads, actor ( CSI): "Green Bay because of Aaron Rodgers. He is in some kind of sick, twisted, unstoppable zone."
Maria Menounos, entertainment reporter ( Access Hollywood): "Rodgers took a hard hit to the head in the NFC Championship game and with, two previous concussions, he may be vulnerable when Pittsburgh defense gets to him. It's going to be close. But Pittsburgh, with its momentum and history, will win."
Paul Scheer, actor ( The League): "Packers. Because we all want to see the team put a cheesehead on the Super Bowl trophy."
Katie Aselton, actress ( The League): "My prediction is that I am going to be bored out of my mind watching this game. I have no idea how these two teams made it to the end, but they have. Let's just hope the beer is cold, the seven-layer dip is deep and the commercials are funny."
Brad Meltzer, author ( The Inner Circle): "My family used to sit in the very last row at Steelers games, plugging an electric blanket into the actual scoreboard. If I don't pick Pittsburgh, they won't feed me any more."
Carter Oosterhouse, HGTV host ( Carter Can): "Steelers, since they have Troy Polamalu and his hair. I have hair envy!"
Mark Valley, actor ( Human Target): "Packers. I just haven't liked the Steelers ever since Terry Bradshaw was quarterback. This is an old feud that goes back to the days of loving the Dallas Cowboys."
C.J. Box, author ( Cold Wind): "We'll see the indoor -- and thus nearly flawless -- performance by Aaron Rodgers we saw in Atlanta in the playoffs. Meaning the Pack will win 24-17."
Brad Womack, reality TV star ( The Bachelor): "Steelers take it due to defense, as well as their 'smash mouth' style of play. I think they'll rattle Aaron Rodgers enough to throw him off his game. To put it simply, I think the Steelers are a much tougher team in body and mind."
Bill Nye, the Science Guy: "The Steelers play hard and tough, especially when they have good footing. But two big plays going the Packers' way will make the difference. Green Bay by 11."
Harry "K.C." Casey, '70s music legend (K.C. & the Sunshine Band): "Green Bay should win because Aaron Rodgers deserves his opportunity, having been in Favre's shadow and playing so well this season. Besides, the Steelers have more SB wins than any other team, so they don't need any more."
Garfield, comic strip cat (with an assist from cartoonist Jim Davis): "As a major cheese lover (I once polished off an 18-cheese lasagna), I gotta go with the Packers. But I do predict that Troy Polamalu will make an interception with his hair."
Larry the Cable Guy, above, comedian ( Only in America With Larry the Cable Guy): "It was in about 2003 that Brett Favre was wearing a Larry the Cable Guy/"Git-R-Done"
T-shirt in an interview. From that day on, I've been a
diehard Packer fan -- to the point now that whenever they lose a game, it ruins
my day. So Packers."
Colby Donaldson, reality TV host ( Top Shot): "My money's on Green Bay. I would like to see Aaron Rodgers get a ring. Given his recent history of concussions, it had better come sooner than later."
Chris Knight, actor/reality TV personality ( The Brady Bunch): "Closest Super Bowl in history: 15-14 Green Bay. Pittsburgh leads 14-7 in the fourth quarter when Rodgers throws a TD over the middle with time running out. When the Packers go for a two-point conversion, Aaron scores by inches with Polamalu riding him all the way. The most exciting Super Bowl of all time!"
Ken Howard, actor ( The White Shadow): "Green Bay in overtime and Aaron Rodgers is MVP."
Michael Symon, celebrity chef ( Iron Chef America): "As much as it kills me as a Clevelander to admit it, I just can't see Pittsburgh losing. They just flat out know how to win and James Harrison is a flat-out beast. Steelers by a touchdown, because they have the only defense that can slow down Aaron Rodgers."
Dave Barry, author ( I'll Mature When I'm Dead): "I think when you look at all the factors -- fame of personnel, overall size of payroll, merchandise, etc. -- you have to go with the Miami Heat. Some people may say, 'But they're a basketball team!' To those people, I respond, 'They have LeBron.'"
Sarah Shahi, actress ( Fairly Legal): "The Steelers' defense is better than their offense. The Packers' offense is better than their defense. It's going to be a war of attrition. Steelers will win."
Jim Cantore, The Weather Channel meteorologist: "Even though both defenses are the best in their respective divisions, Rodgers will lead his Packer offense to victory and take his place among the elite."
Scott Turow, author ( Innocent): "This seems like the hardest call in years, but Bears fans never root for the Packers. So I will take the Steelers, but I expect a very tight game."
Colin Ferguson, actor ( Eureka): "Clay Mathews and the Packers' defense have built insane momentum over the last few weeks. The Steelers have been four times in the last 15 years, so it's like a trip to the dentist. Plus, Aaron Rodgers is the best quarterback in league. So my call is...Cheese wins."
Jesse Metcalfe, actor ( Chase): "Green Bay. Aaron Rodgers' mobility, accuracy and All-Pro receiving crew make the Packers hard to contain. They'll exploit the Steelers' rookie corner for some big plays."
Charlie Daniels, rock music legend (Charlie Daniels Band): "No doubt about it: Pittsburgh Steelers."
Scott Adams, Dilbert cartoonist: "I make my Super Bowl predictions using a variant on the paper-rocks-scissors concept. In this case, you can pack steel but you can't steel pack. So Packers will win."
Alex Berenson, author ( The Midnight House): "Karma and the oddsmakers favor the Pack: Green Bay 34, Pittsburgh 21."
Stephen Collins, actor ( No Ordinary Family): "Despite his recent injuries, Roethlisberger will lead the Steelers to another win: 24-17."
Eddie McClintock, actor ( Warehouse 13): "Packers all the way. Rodgers is unstoppable. The Packers' defense, led by Ohio State University alumni A.J. Hawk, will dominate."
Holt McCallany, actor ( Lights Out): "Packers because this is Aaron Rodgers' moment. The Steelers and Roethlisberger have been there before."
Lee Greenwood, country music artist ("God Bless the USA"): "Steelers 24-21. Because Ben Roethlisberger is simply too big, too strong and, as good as the Packers' defense is, too hard to bring down."
Jared Fogel, Subway sandwich chain spokesperson: "Green Bay 27, Pittsburgh 21. Packers have such momentum now that they are going to be very hard to beat. Pittsburgh is great, don't get me wrong. But the Packers are going to take it. Plus, Green Bay has Subway colors, so they have to win!"
Donnie Wahlberg, actor ( Blue Bloods): "Packers 27-20. The Packers play a similar style game to the Patriots, which matches up well against the Steelers."
Guy Fieri, celebrity chef ( Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives): "Pittsburgh. They both have great quarterbacks and both are great teams and both fought hard to get here. But from the legacy of the Steel Curtain in the '70s, there's always something about that power."
B.J. Thomas, singer ("Raindrops Keep Fallin' on My Head"): "Packers. As a Dallas Cowboys fan, I would hate to see the Steelers win another one."
Karl Marlantes, author ( Matterhorn): "With these two great teams, the winning factor isn't going to be talent. I'm going with momentum, a nice word for a lot of intangibles, and say Green Bay by seven."
Terry Fator, ventriloquist (Las Vegas Mirage headliner): "I think the Steelers are going to win by a blowout. My wife is a Steelers fan. So if they do win, I'll have a good night! We are flying from Las Vegas to attend the Super Bowl and can't wait for the big day."
Jerry Springer, TV talk show host ( The Jerry Springer Show): "Packers will win 24-20. They have a more explosive offense."
Tommy Davidson, comedian ( In Living Color): "I like the Packers' game because their defense is stepping up. Clay Matthews plays well off the edge and B.J. Raji clogs the middle better than anyone in the game. Plus, Pouncey's injury will be too much to overcome. Packers 28-24."
Alice Cooper, rock music icon ("School's Out"): "Packers. I'm going with my division. My Lions, surprisingly enough, aren't in it this year. Wait 'til next year."
Robin Leach, TV personality ( Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous): "Steelers, because cold hard tough steel beats out cheese with holes in it -- and that's the point: There are holes in the Packers' lineup."
Aly Michalka, actress ( Wildcats): "Packers. They are favored over the Steelers by two and a half points, even though it is a pretty even spread. Based on both teams' strong offense in the over-under, I would take the over at 44."
Dusty Hill, rock music legend (ZZ Top): "Packers. We laid out one Steelers jersey and one Packers jersey on the floor and our two dogs, Gracie and Dolly, ran away with the Pack."
Adam Richman, Travel Channel host ( Man v. Food): "I want to see the Packers win, largely because it will give Aaron Rodgers the recognition he so richly deserves. But I think the Steelers, who were strong enough a squad to win without Roethlisberger, are going to gut out a win by a two- or three-point margin."
Rex Linn, actor ( CSI: Miami): "You can't deny the mojo Green Bay has going for them. That being said, I'm going Steelers. The reason why? Quarterback. Also, as a side note: Hook 'em, Horns!"
Robert Crais, author ( The Sentry): "Packers. Aaron Rodgers and his receivers are going to be too much for the Steelers secondary, especially out of the shotgun. Air freight delivery will take the day."
Mark Feuerstein, actor ( Royal Pains): "I used to live for Terry Bradshaw, Lynn Swann and John Stallworth -- and let's not forget the
best of all, Franco Harris --
so Steelers, purely for
nostalgic reasons."
Kyle Bornheimer, actor ( Perfect Couples): "I am a lifelong Packer fan. My dad grew up in Milwaukee and used to sneak into games back when they would come down and play at the old County Stadium. He won't need to sneak in this year, because you can see Dallas' jumbo screen from outer space! Go Pack!"
Regina King, actress ( Southland): "This is going to be a great game. It can be any team's game, but I'm going with the Steelers. Rodgers has that long ball, but he can't take a hit like Big Ben."
Roy Clark, country music legend ( Hee Haw): "Packers 17, Steelers 10."
Steve Wilkos, talk show host ( The Steve Wilkos Show): "Steelers, because they are the stronger team. The Steelers have been to two Super Bowls with Big Ben already and that will make the difference."
Corey Reynolds, actor ( The Closer): "Last time the two QBs faced off, Big Ben and Aaron Rodgers gave us a huge game. I expect the same thing, but this time the Packers are going to win. It's time to remove Brett Favre from the conversation."
Ty Murray, champion bull rider: "Of course, it's the Packers. Aaron Rodgers is a huge Professional Bull Riders fan. 21-14."
Rachelle Lefevre, actress ( Off the Map): "Heartbreakingly for me, Aaron Rodgers and the Packers made it look easy against the Bears. But they are still a young team and the veteran Steelers are going to teach them a thing of two about what it takes to win the Super Bowl."
Eric Roberts, actor ( Runaway Train): "Packers by 10."
Lee Brice, country music artist ("Love Like Crazy"): "Packers have a lot of momentum going into this game and Aaron Rodgers is going to come through."
Tony Dovolani, dancer ( Dancing With the Stars): "Pittsburgh 21-17, because the Steelers have the better defense."
William Mapother, actor ( Lost): "The Packers, post-Favre. The NFL hath no fury like a cheese-head scorned."
Chris Grundy, DIY Network host ( DIY Dominator): "Even though I'd like to see the Packers win the big game, the Steelers' experience and the elusiveness of Roethlisberger will be the difference. Pittsburgh by 6."
Kurt Fuller, actor ( Better With You): "As much as I'm a Green Bay and Aaron Rodgers fan, I have to give Roethlisberger his due for winning big games and go with the Steelers."
Ed Schultz, MSNBC news anchor ( The Ed Schultz Show): "Though I've been a dedicated Minnesota Vikings fan since 1975, I predict the Packers will win by 14."
Patrick Fabian, actor ( The Last Exorcism): "Steelers. Being a Pennsylvania native with relatives still living in Pittsburgh, I'm a Steeler fan all the way. Aaron Rodgers, meet Troy Polamalu."
Matt Lauria, actor ( The Chicago Code): "As disgruntled as I am that they prevailed over the Bears, I think the Packers will take it. Packers: 38-30. Rodgers was my fantasy football QB and was a total stud all season. He's an incredible talent."
James Lesure, actor ( Mr. Sunshine): "I'd be cool with the Steelers winning the Super Bowl. They're the team I rooted for when I was younger."
Andy Williams, singer ("Moon River"): "Packers 24-17. They're both good teams, but I just think the Packers are better and I like Aaron Rodgers."
Candace Bailey, Attack of the Show!! cohost: "Packers are going all the way, because their defensive line is going to sack Roethlisberger and Rodgers is going to be MVP. Go Cheese-Heads."
Andrea Anders, actress ( Mr. Sunshine): "Packers. It's a classic Super Bowl matchup. I'm already excited and nervous. Based off of the last playoff game, my head could very well explode."
Rich Fields, game show announcer ( The Price Is Right): "Steelers. I believe their running game will dominate, but also their defense is sharper and quicker than the Packers."
Don Rickles, comedian: "Packers 31-21. I just think they have the attitude that this is 'our time.'"
Josh Cooke, actor ( Better With You): "Clearly the
Steelers. They're from
Pennsylvania, I'm from
Pennsylvania. Enough said."
Ray Johnston, singer-songwriter (Ray Johnston Band): "The Steelers will win, due to defense, the experienced QB and better running game.
The Steelers remind me of Southeastern Conference football: They hit hard,
play smart and know that
a running game wins."
