Fill-the-Boot fundraiser
Merced City Firefighters Local 1479 will Fill-the-Boot to raise funds for the Central California Chapter of the Muscular Dystrophy Association from 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday at Olive and G streets. Funds raised through Fill-the-Boot will provide the following MDA services to local families: support groups, medical clinics, medical equipment and the annual Youth Summer Camp that is 100 percent wheelchair accessible – even the swimming pool.
Pumpkin Party for kids
The city of Merced invites families to its annual Tiny Tots Pumpkin Party on Wednesday. The event is a time for children ages 3 to 6 to decorate a pumpkin and partake in other Halloween fun. Costumes are welcome. The party starts at 5:15 p.m. at Merced Civic Center, 678 W. 18th St. The cost is $5 per child. Space is limited, so preregistration is required. To register, call 209-385-6298.
Madera County Farm Bureau celebration
The Madera County Farm Bureau will celebrate its centennial Nov. 1 at the Madera County Fairgrounds in the Eastman Hall, 1000 S. Third St., Chowchilla. Guest speakers include Bill Coate, Madera historian; Joseph I. Castro, Ph.D., M.P.P., Fresno State president; and Paul J. Wenger, California Farm Bureau Federation president. Merced chancellor talk in Modesto
The Business Women’s Symposium will present insights, inspiration and motivational ideas from successful business and educational leaders addressing core topics that impact every businessperson today. Pancake breakfast for GVHS
Kiwanis is partnering with Golden Valley High School Tennis and Soccer to host a pancake breakfast fundraiser at the GVHS cafeteria from 7 a.m. to noon Nov. 8. Tickets are $7 and can be purchased at the door or from one of the athletes. For more information, call 209-631-4941.

Women’s Ministry craft fundraiser
Women’s Ministry is having a fundraiser from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Nov. 21 at the Calvary Temple Worship Center, 2740 Highway 59. The event will feature homemade crafts, quilts, jewelry, baked goods, hot soup and sandwiches. For more information, call 209-383-6686.
