Car fires reported on Highway 99 in Merced County
Two cars on Highway 99 caught fire just before noon in separate incidents, according to California Highway Patrol.
A truck was fully engulfed in flames at about 11:45 a.m. on the northbound shoulder about a mile north of Hammatt Avenue, the CHP said. About 10 minutes later, a caller reported a van caught fire and burned in the center divider north of Plainsburg Road, according to CHP.
No injuries have been reported. Some traffic slowed in the area, CHP reported.
